MINUTES OF REGUALR BUTMAN TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING

March 10, 2011

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on the above date. Supervisor Shirley Kyle, Clerk Don Joyce, Treasurer Susie Ruppert, Trustee Linda Haight, Trustee John Wolski and 6 citizens were in attendance. The following represents a brief summary of all motions, resolutions, ordinances, and actions taken by the board at this meeting.

  • Superintendent Seebeck presented an eight year budget comparison of the general fund for Gladwin Community Schools. The fund went from a deficit in 2005 to a surplus in 2006 through 2010. Good news for the Butman Township tax payers.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Wolski to approve Consent Agenda as presented; including bills to be paid in the amount of $96,004.27 and budget amendment transfer of $35,000.00 from 206.999.999.000 to 206.950.970.000. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Kyle to extend grace period on sewer bills from the 25th to the 30th day of each month. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Haight to approve 2011 Federal Poverty Tax Guidelines as presented. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Wolski to approve Geoff Hobin as the new Board of Review Member. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • Treasurer Don Joyce gave updates on the USDA loan. A Road Fund for Butman Township was discussed and tabled for review next month.
  • Motion by Joyce/Ruppert to pay Gladwin County $300 for the Hazardous Waste Collection to be held in August 2011. Exact date to be announced. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Haight to cancel Township Hall Charter Cable service but to continue Fire Department cable for emergency purposes. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Haight to approve the Installment Purchase Resolution for the Fire Attack Truck as presented. Ayes carried; motion passes. By roll call vote Ayes 5; Nays 0. The resolution was adopted.
  • BTFD report presented by Chief Greg Pollock. During the past month we responded to 9 medicals. Motion by Ruppert/Kyle to approve expenses in the amount of $2920.00. Ayes carried; motion passes.
  • United Water report presented by Operations Manager Rich Deyarmond.
  • County Commissioner Dennis Carl presented Commissioner’s report for February.
  • Motion by Ruppert/Haight to adjourn at 8:30. Ayes carried; motion passes.
