2009 & 2010 SUMMER AND WINTER TAX BILL INFORMATION:

Tax bills sent out on July 1, 2009 & December 1, 2009 are now delinquent.  If you have not paid this tax bill contact the Gladwin Treasurer's office at 1-989-426-7251 OR if you have questions regarding these tax bills, call the Butman Township Treasurer's office (989-426-4351, extension 26).  The Township CANNOT accept payments for delinquent taxes.  If they are sent or dropped off in the drop box they are sent to the County Treasurer's office within 1 week of receiving.

Real Estate and Personal Property  tax bills are mailed out the first week in July and December of each year.  If you do not receive your SUMMER tax bill by July 20th each year or your WINTER tax bill by December 20th of each year, please call the  Butman Township Treasurer's Office at 989-426-4351, Extension 26.

Butman Township Treasurer's Office accepts and receipts Summer bills and current winter tax bills through February 29 each year.   On March 1 of each year all UNPAID tax bills become delinquent and the Tax Rolls are turned over to the Gladwin County Treasurer's office.  All inquiries (amount past due, interest and penalty) are directed to and handled by the Gladwin County Treasurer's office (989-426-7251).

Winter and Summer Tax bills are mailed out to the OWNER OF RECORD at the time of printing.   If you have an escrow account with a financial lending institution, you should check with your lender on payment or send them your tax bill.  The Treasurer's Office receives written requests from financial lending institutions on tax bill amounts where, in turn, the Treasurer's Office will look up the taxpayer's amount due, write it on the lender's request and return it.  The taxpayer should check with their escrow lender before February 1 each year to make sure their tax bill payment has been processed and mailed for payment.

SUMMER PROPERTY TAX DEFERMENTS:

(MCL 211.51)  Persons eligible for a deferment for their principal residence are defined in the Income Tax Act of 1967 (MCL 206.501 to 206.532).  Please contact the township treasurer at 989-426-4351, ext 26, for further information.
